Telethon Kids Institute Joondalup

Contour Interiors was engaged by Telethon Kids Institute to create an engaging yet sensitive space that was suitable and approachable for children, as well as offering a calm environment for patients and staff. The clinic had unique requirements and needs but a key theme was to avoid the space feeling too institutional and stark.

As part of the extensive briefing phase, the Contour team worked closely with the various client consultants to understand their specific requirements in each of the consultation spaces. This enabled the design process to flow seamlessly and without delays and holdups.

The space was designed to allow staff and patients to access consultation rooms seamlessly and safely. Long corridors were deliberately avoided, and the feel of consultation space was softened by introducing curves to partitions. This visual softening was continued with calming colours and graphics used in the space, fulfilling the brief of being appropriate and welcoming for children.

Through our integrated project methodology, our in-house project management team ensured the smooth delivery of this space, mitigating budget and supply chain risks to deliver a fantastic result for the Telethon Team ahead of schedule and on budget.
